Can you believe it is almost the end of 2010? I can't.... wanted to share that one of our great kids was adopted this past April. We also have two other children that are in the process of being adopted and they should be finalized this December.

Please check out our website at http://www.childrensguild.org to see about all the great things that have happened this year! Also, please be sure to send me your address so that my development department can add you to our list of in kind donors.

This year for the holidays, I am mixing it up a bit and I am collecting gift cards for our foster kids and families. This way we can better track what each person is getting and they can pick out the items that they want to purchase as part of their Life Skills training. I am open to all types of cards. i.e. Wal-Mart, Kmart, Best Buy, Dollar Tree, CVS, Toys R Us, iTunes, Modells sporting goods, Under Armor, Target, and the list goes on (anything you can think of). This will also be much easier on you!

I am also taking gently used clothing/shoes of all sizes. We are in grave need of clothes for ages 7-12 for our community clients specifically.

Really, I will take just about anything you want to donate!

I need all items by December 13th this year so that we can get everything distributed before I leave for Florida on the 16th. If you need longer than that, just let me know and I can be sure to hook you up with a contact person.

We have a total of 60 kids enrolled in our program and we have a total of 73 families approved as therapeutic foster parents. Please let me know if you are interested in becoming a foster parent, we need willing and compassionate people.

If anyone knows of someone who would want to coach a middle school lacrosse team please let me know.

The middle school I teach at is joining a lax league but we could use a coach for a middle school boys team that would run March - May. It would involve 3 days a week of practice and/or games with a compensation of 1k.

If interested or know anyone that would be let me know. Practices would need to be after school so someone that can work a 3:00-4:30 time a couple days a week.

Mr. Tire Presents Italian Car Show Sept. 26 on Rash Field in Baltimore

BALTIMOREThe Childrens Guild, which provides academic and therapeutic services for children and adolescents who are traumatized, autistic and with multiple disabilities, will hold the sixth annual VIVA ITALIA: Concours DElegance presented by Mr. Tire for the second year. The free-to-the-public all-Italian car and motorcycle show, held this year in collaboration with Trawler Fest boat show, will feature marques like Alfa Romeo, Ducati, Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati.

When? Sunday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where? Rash Field on Key Highway in Baltimore (new location)

At the foot of the Inner Harbor framed by the city skyline, VIVA ITALIA this year offers a new experience as picture perfect as the cars on display, said Lori Trumble, co-chair of VIVA ITALIA: Concours DElegance and Childrens Guild board trustee. Attendees will have the chance to admire beautiful cars and enjoy a panorama of the city all while supporting the children of The Childrens Guild.

VIVA ITALIA: Concours DElegance expects up to 100 exhibiting cars and motorcycles in a festival atmosphere with live, local entertainment. In addition to the car show, The Childrens Guild will host a full slate of VIP activities for car and motorcycle exhibitors and other VIP ticket holders. VIP activities include a gourmet brunch with an open bar all day at the Rusty Scupper; free access to Trawler Fest in the Inner Harbor Sept. 24 to 26; and an award ceremony, gift bag and silent auction.

Car and motorcycle registration for VIVA ITALIA: Concours DElegance costs $75, which includes one vehicle space at the show and one VIP ticket. VIP tickets are also available separately without vehicle registration for $75 each. Show sponsorship packages are also available.

Proceeds from VIVA ITALIA: Concours DElegance benefit programs at The Childrens Guild, which serves more than 700 young people throughout Maryland. Last year, the event raised more than $25,000 for The Childrens Guild and attracted thousands of people.

Help Support At Risk Youth

I work for a non profit organization called the Childrens Guild Inc. We work with inner city at risk students with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities. Our programs include three special education schools, one charter school, outpatient mental health clinics, a foster care program, and three group homes.

The Childrens Guild will be celebrating its 6th annual Viva Italia Concours DElegance all Italian car and motorcycle show, Sunday September 26, 2010 at Rash Field at beautiful Baltimores down town Inner Harbor in Maryland.

The funds raised from Concours DElegance will benefit hundreds of emotionally, behaviorally and developmentally challenged children in Baltimore City, Prince Georges and Anne Arundel Counties.

We would like to ask you to be a contributor of this wonderful, worthwhile event.

Much of the funds raised during this event are a result of our live and silent auctions. These auction items have varied from restaurant gift certificates, sports memorabilia and automobile merchandise. Large bedroom available in spacious rehabbed rowhouse near Riverside Park. The room is the finished basement with its own half bathroom and a shared full bath. The room does have slightly lower ceiling space (the rest of the house has high ceilings). It is fully carpeted, approximately 15 x 31. The house would be shared with 2 females in their 20's. One is in grad school and the other teaches in the city. We are both active, social, friendly, and busy during the week with school and work. We are pretty calm on the weekends preferring to get up early to bike and be outside rather than closing the bars every weekend. We're hoping to find someone that will fit well in the house to be friends with and share a nice living space. The rest of the house is fully furnished but the room would not be. The room is large enough to have its own living area or study area since it is most of the ground level. As for the rest of the house, there is a back deck, small yard, hardwood floors throughout, sky light in the bathroom, a bar room with a pool table/air hockey table that doesn't get used enough but is nice to have for summer cookouts. Utilities are not included and usually run about $60/month which covers cable, wireless internet, and BGE. The water bill is an additional $15 or so every three months. Parking is usually easy to find with the exception of coming home around 11 but in the 3 years I've lived here I've only had to park more than a block away maybe 4 times. Access to I-95 is right around the corner on Key Hwy. The grocery store, gym, dry cleaners, and harbor are all within a 3-4 block walk. Room is available August 4th with a flexible lease term. We both have dogs just as an fyi but they are friendly and laid back for the most part. Any questions feel free to email me. Canton - Room for Rent

	I have a room for rent in my house. Canton/Patterson Park area. We are close to the highway and right on the park, perfect if you have a dog! The room itself is pretty large, 12x15 and there is plenty of storage as well. The house was fully rehabbed a few years ago with new roof, central a/c and heat and all new appliances. Bathroom is shared with me but is also pretty big. The back area is fenced in and parking in the neighborhood isn't too bad, especially for the area. I am asking $700/mth and that seems to be pretty consistent with other local places. I am a pretty easy-going person who works a ton (3 jobs) so when I am home I tend to lounge around and relax and play with my puppy, Jake. I really enjoy sports and grabbing drinks with friends. I'm looking for someone I can talk to but don't necessarily have to be great friends with. Male or female is okay as I've lived with both and don't really have a preference. I'm not a neat freak by any stretch but I would like someone who at least picks up after themselves. I love my roommate now but she just got laid-off from her job and has to move home.
